The first of our 2 away games at Leybourne & we needed 1 win to finish 2nd in the League.

We didn't start well going 0-2 down after 10 minutes with the defence being caught out of position both times. We need to learn to cover each other & anticipate what might happen if we lose the ball instead of staying in one position.

As always the Monarchs heads didn't go down & despite not playing at their best they managed to pull back to 2-2 at half time.

The second half was a different matter & the Monarchs seemed to go up a gear & started using the wide players to create space & chances - always a good idea on big pitches.  Despite having 2 goals correctly disallowed the Monarchs scored 6 second half goals to get the win & confirm 2nd place.

Every player deserves credit for working so hard as a team throughout the season & 2nd place is a good reward for their efforts. Let's finish the season in style next week.
